We can go through life hunting and pecking, looking for opportunities or customers, hoping that something connects with our service or product.
Or we can go through life with intention, knowing what our piece looks like, knowing our WHY, and going straight to the places we fit.
The Right Fit?
When you know what your piece of the jigsaw looks like, it’s much easier to see where it fits or doesn’t fit.
Decisions can be made more quickly and with greater certainty. And when others can see your piece, they can see whether or not it fits with theirs. If it does, that’s when the image starts to take shape. In the real world, that looks like a team coming together to advance a common vision.
The DEN difference....
Our goal is to create an environment where a start-up company can really focus on building their product and talking to their consumers.
Instead of worrying about us breathing down your neck, you need to be in an environment where you really feel free to concentrate and not worry about the financial stuff. We want your early growth to be productive and inspiring, more than anything else.
We endeavor to interfere as little as possible in the startups we fund. We don’t demand board seats or the other powers some investors require.
We offer lots of advice, and you can take it or leave it. We do realize that independence is one of the top reasons people want to start startups in the first place!
We also know that this independence is one of the reasons startups succeed. We feel that our investors should only dissect a company before funding it, and not after. Otherwise, we know we'll just risk destroying it.
Our goal is to be a preferred source of seed funding for exciting startups, and to be that we have to do right by everyone. We want the groups we fund to feel like they’re getting a good deal, and then tell others about their experience with us.
